Item DETEKSI Pseudomonas aeruginosa PADA ULKUS PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS MENGGUNAKAN METODE POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION (PCR)(DETEKSI Pseudomonas aeruginosa PADA ULKUS PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS MENGGUNAKAN METODE POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION (PCR), 2025-08-06) SANTI TUHALAURUWDiabetic ulcers are open wounds due to diabetes mellitus and are one of the complications that often occur in DM patients. The presence of a diabetic ulcer is a place for many bacteria to enter so that it will aggravate or worsen the condition of a diabetic ulcer. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram-negative bacterium that is pathogenic and can cause various infections of the skin, especially in open wounds. The purpose of this study was to detect Pseudomonas aeruginosa in ulcers of people with diabetes mellitus using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method. This study used a cross-sectional design using 12 samples taken from the ETN Center Makassar Clinic, the results showed that Pseudomonas aeruginosa was detected in 7 samples of ulcers of people with diabetes mellitus with a target DNA size of 700bp. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Pseudomonas aeruginosa is also a bacterium that infects many ulcers with diabetes mellitus.
